1031 Exchanges - Call to Action
ADISA (Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association, f/ka REISA) is an industry organization that provides education, networking and advocacy for alternative investments. It lobbies for product sponsor and firm rights related to these product types.
Internal Revenue Code Section 1031 was added by Congress in 1921. There is recent concern that there may be a potential repeal or limitation made to this Code’s Section that could negatively affect our industry and your clients that participate in 1031 Exchanges. ADISA has created a website for those advisors or even your clients that may be interested in contacting their Members of Congress directly about this topic. On the website, there is a basic letter that can be tailored or added to include other concerns before it is automatically forwarded to the applicable Members of Congress.
Please feel free to voice your opinion to your Congressional Representatives on this topic and if appropriate, to share the website with any clients that may be affected for their input as well. ADISA’s website: adisa.org/legislative/1031
