RBC DOL Fiduciary Training Course - Attestation Due by 12/31/16
As mentioned during our DOL Fireside Chat last month, we discussed that RBC was putting together a training course on the DOL's new fiduciary rule. The RBC course is a pre-recorded 45 minute training that is not interactive (i.e. there are no questions to answer, you just listen passively to the course). There is also no cost to view the course; however, you must have a RBC Infoworks User ID to log in. If you do not have a log in to RBC, please contact Michelle Hancock to obtain an Infoworks User Id. This will involve installing a certificate on your computer and is approximately a 2 to 3 business day turn around. Additionally, there is not an exam or a certificate of completion when you finish listening to the course itself; therefore, please complete the attached DOL Fiduciary Rule Training Attestation and return it to Lacey Avioli at laceya@investment-planners.com on or before December 30, 2016 to attest that you have viewed the course.
The goals of the RBC course is to gain a better understanding of the following:
- The fiduciary standard of care that applies to advisors working with retirement plan clients and
- The related concepts that will be essential for advisors to operate in compliance with these new rules, now and in the future.
The log in for the RBC Fiduciary Rule Training Course may be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DOL_Fiduciary_Standard_Course
You will need the following information to take the course:
- First Name
- Last Name
- User Id (This is your Infoworks User Id to RBC, if you do not have a User Id then please contact Michelle Hancock to obtain one).
- Firm Name
- Firm ID (It is: 1294)
Please complete on or before December 30, 2016 and return the attestation. Any questions, please let me know.
Thanks, Renee
