Elder Abuse Info - 4/6/2016

The article this week is for our advisors and not clients per se. But, feel free to share with your clients as they may have a family member or friend who may need the resouces enclosed. Most advisors have clients that are elderly and many of you have requested resources to assist clients who may be susceptible to Elder Abuse. We have put together some statistics and general information on the subject as well as contact information for each state’s Adult Protective Services office in order to report suspected abuse. Also, feel free to click the hyperlinks for additional information below in the article. Any questions, please let us know.

I also have to give a big thanks to Lacey Avioli, one of our newest employees at the home office, for putting this information together for you. Great job Lacey!

Off Topic Side Note: DOL rule comes out this morning at 10:30 CST. Some minor highlights that I am hearing so far --- April 2017 - broader definition of fiduciary will go into effect with the implementation of the rule to be phased in over time with full compliance by 1/1/18. More to come from Corey on this topic. I also highly recommend that you join us in St. Louis for our summer conference in which we will spend a significant amount of time discussing strategies to assist you and your clients through these changes.
